Three years ago, Luis Sepulveda made the life-changing decision to get clean. At the time, he was battling addiction to fentanyl and meth while experiencing homelessness. That turning point led him to the Escambia County EMS CORE program, which helped him transition into stable housing and reconnect with his family.
Not long after he found stability, he transitioned into Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) here at Lakeview Center. The MAT program combines FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies to support long-term recovery from opioid use to help individuals reduce cravings, prevent relapse and rebuild healthy, sustainable lives.
Luis’ experience with the MAT program has been overwhelmingly positive. “I love going to my appointments,” he shared. “They understand that even working in mental health and substance use, there are still triggers and tough days. That support means everything.”
